Kula Nirmulana Sangham was established in 1972 in Hyderabad with the mission of eradicating the caste system from Indian society. The organization emerged from the inspiration and ideological guidance of notable reformers like Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and others who envisioned a casteless and equal society.
Prominent figures involved in the founding of this organization included then Law Secretary and former Public Service Commission Member Jagarla-mudi Veeraswamy, renowned writer and Assembly reviewer Suramauli, eminent educationist and literary scholar Sri V. Nageshwar, former Urban Community Development Director D.G. Rama Rau, Bhadri Vishal Pitti, Prof. Keshav Rao Jadhav, Lavanam and many other progressive-minded social reformers who played key roles.
The Sangham operates as a democratic and secular organization, unaffiliated with any political party. It collaborates with progressive movements working towards equality, gender justice, and human rights.
A significant achievement came in 2024 when, following the Sangham's persistent advocacy, the Government of Telangana officially recognized a "No Caste, No Religion" identity in its social survey forms. This marked a historic step towards acknowledging casteless citizens in official records. The organization's efforts have led to a notable social shift in Telangana, with surveys indicating that nearly 4% of the population now identifies as caste-free.
The Sangham is proud of this achievement and remains committed to continuing its mission toward building an egalitarian society. Over the decades, Kula Nirmulana Sangham has remained a consistent and fearless voice advocating for a just, casteless society.
We believe that true progress comes from empowering individuals and fostering an environment where every person is valued for who they are, not for their birth. We continue to inspire new generations to live beyond the limitations of caste and religion, upholding human dignity and equality for all.
